About Me

Passion For Data Science and the Generative AI Age

Hello! My name is Dave Boudia. I'm a graduate of the Master of Applied Data Science program at the University of Michigan and prior to that received a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. I've spent much of my career working with a variety of healthcare disciplines and thousands of clinicians in Emergency Medicine, Surgical/Anestheisa, OB/GYN, Oncology and Clinical Research for the purposes of transitioning to and thriving in the digital age of documentation. This portion of my career was creating the infrastructure for capturing Big Data in Healthcare.

My path into Data Science is an opportunity to work with organizations to unlock their data's potential. Data can reveal insights, define problems, project what the future may look like and help organizations achieve efficiencies by alleviating redundant non-value added tasks for employees.

My interests include Natural Language Processing - both in obtaining insights into text as well as Deep Learning to train language models. I'm really interested in Neuro-Machine Translation - taking human commands and converting them into functional tasks. I hope to share some work in that area soon.

That said, I love data and working on a variety of projects from simply understanding a problem better to visual analysis to improving information retrieval.

Some of my hobbies include researching both long-term stock investments/strategies as well as taking measured short-term trading risks to capitalize on market conditions. Of course I don't claim to be an expert or an advisor, but being able to research and make assessments of how the market will evolve esp. with a lens towards AI's disruptive potential, is exciting! Integral to this is keeping an eye on and continually learning about the macro-economic environment and how monetary policy along with the world economic landscape influences market conditions.

Other hobbies include an insatiable desire for personal growth and self-evolution (we all have the potential to be better versions of ourselves) with an interest in psychology and mental health/well-being.
